Brukeele 2014 Photoshoot

Assalamualaikum.

The committee decided that it was time for another photo shoot to showcase the current Brukeele members and also leave memories to those who are graduating this year. We decided to take the pictures yet again at the scenic Keele Hall, scheduling the photo shoot was a hassle due to the unpredictable English weather but that Thursday afternoon proved to be the right time !.

There are some members who unfortunately are unable to attend this event due to conflicting schedule or they were not present in Keele at that time, nonetheless it was a great day filled with smiles and laughter as all of the members that came dressed well to impress.

We would also like to thank Anas Nawawi on behalf of the committee for capturing and providing us these moments. Your help is much appreciated Anas :)

BruKeele BBQ 2014

Assalamualaikum :)

On the 4th of April 2014, the new BruKeele Committee organised a small BBQ as a get together event for all the Bruneian students currently studying in Keele. The event began at 2pm onwards at the Barnes Social Space BBQ area outside.

We served 2 types of chicken, one BBQ chicken marinate and a tandoori chicken marinate. They were both really delicious. Other items served for the BruKeele members were sausages, crabsticks, burgers, mashed potatoes, pasta and some fruits.

Members of the BruKeele society also brought their own leisure equipments to play with everyone and had all sorts of fun playing frisbee and football.

It was a very eventful and successful event for both committee members and BruKeele members. Everyone had an enjoyable time. It is never a dull moment when you have a bunch of Bruneian people around you :)

On behalf of the BruKeele Committee, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that came to the BBQ. We enjoyed everyones company on this day, and without you, the day wouldn't have been as prosperous and entertaining.

And lastly, we hope that YOU had as much fun as we did.

BruKeele Committee 14/15 recently organised an appreciation dinner for the previous BruKeele Committee (13/14) at Mango Tree, Hanley. The president started of with a speech to give thanks to the previous committee that attended the appreciation dinner. Unfortunately some of the committee members could not make it.

The current Committee would like to thank the previous Committee on behalf of the whole of BruKeele society for all their dedication and hard work in all the activities conducted in the past year. We will hopefully do a good job following your footsteps.

Here are some photos that were taken that night.

National Day Celebation 2014

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Titah Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia:

Sambutan Ulang Tahun Hari Kebangsaan ke-30

In commemoration of the 30th National Day of Brunei Darussalam, BruKeele celebrated Brunei National day on the 15th of February 2014. It was an event that was a first of its kind as there were no events like this before this, organised by our own BruKeele Society. Other Bruneian Societies were invited and the presidents from Brunei Warwick and Brunei Birmingham Society attended the event.

The event began with Do'a recited by our Religious Officer, Firas Ibrahim, followed by the National Anthem. The president, Qawi Matsatejo, then proceeded to give a short speech welcoming those who were present. The main event then started off with a Drama depicting the lives of Bruneians back in the days during the Japanese occupation in Brunei. After the touching story concluded, a video was shown showing pictures of the aftermath of the occupation. The members then continued the event with Traditional Dancing, choreographed by Hazimah Hanafiah. To end the performances, a band performed 3 songs followed by pantun-pantun. Below are videos of some of the performances on that day.

The event then moved to the Exhibition Suite in Chancellors Building, where the committee had food ready for the society members.
